Roedean Crescent
Garden with 180 Degree Panorama of the Sea
Roedean Crescent
A gentle slope falls away from the house and the soil was very thin and chalky. After scraping away the old lawn we first constructed a curved arbour which brought in height and symmetry to the garden and made a great place for a swing. We also made a secret door which leads to the enclosed trampoline. The arbour was planted with wisteria, clematis and rambling roses. The clients brief was to have lots of planting wild and wonderful, the pictures below are from its first year so its looking established already . We constructed a small seated arbour which directly faces West so a great place to sit and watch the sun slip away. With natural tunnels made from hazel and willow the son soon started to discover the garden and he really loves the swing. The garden design brief was also to have a good sized lawn and planting to hide the bordering fence. For this we used some wonderful olive trees was don’t my the salty air.
With expert knowledge, passion, reliability and careful budgeting; Owen from Purely Planting has created an amazing garden we would never have been able to imagine, let alone produce ourselves. We now have a beautiful space we love to spend time in – and one that at night (with imaginative lighting) is magical. The whole team at Purely Planting worked quickly and professionally – not only in relation to the comprehensive planting – but in designing and building from scratch, a covered seating area and an unusual curved pergola (incorporating a swing). Owen was extremely good at listening to our own ideas and specific requirements – then adding to and improving on them! If you are looking for sustainable, stunning, well built and environmentally friendly garden design and/ or maintenance – we can’t recommend them highly enough. It was a pleasure to have them working in our garden.
